A journey of
American craftsmanship
Our Merino Heirloom Tee begins with the healthy Rambouillet sheep on Oregon's Imperial Stock Ranch, operated by Shaniko Wool Company, the first ranch in the world to be certified under the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and Nativa™ Regen.
At this ranch, established in 1871, the Rambouillet graze naturally, actively improving soil health, water quality, and biodiversity in the region.

From the Imperial Stock Ranch, the natural merino wool fibers are sent to Chargeurs in South Carolina, the only wool combing mill in the United States. Here, the fibers are carefully washed, combed and spun into wool "tops", ready for spinning, dyeing and knitting.
The pristine wool tops then travel to Draper Knitting, in Canton, Massachusetts, where the fiber enters its final stages of development. Spun into yarns, dyed with chemical-free and non-toxic dyes or left completely natural, then knitted into our signature interlock fabric.
The wool is now ready to become a garment.

Hocking Hills Garment Center, a woman-owned and operated facility located in a renovated Catholic church in the heart of Buchtel, Ohio, is where our Heirloom Tees are given life. A production floor painted in strokes of red, green and orange light cast down from the tall stained-glass windows. The hum of sewing machines buzz in the background, operated by trained specialists consumed with their craft. The sights and sounds of a community revitalized by the pursuit to keep the American garment industry alive.

The Wool
Our merino wool comes from Shaniko Wool Company, a network of family ranches anchored in central Oregon's Imperial Stock Ranch, est. 1871. The first ranch in the world certified to the Responsible Wool Standard. The fiber in the Heirloom Merino Tee carries dual NATIVA™ Regen and RWS certification. Mulesing-free, superwash-free.
Every yard traces back to the pasture it came from.
The Fabric
19.2 micron, 5.5oz interlock knit. Two mirrored layers, knitted simultaneously. Denser than single jersey. Structurally stable in both directions. Drapes with weight. Holds its shape over time.
The Construction
A gusset at the underarm where most tees fail first. A narrow twin-needle hem, finished to the standard of early 20th century garments.
A lifetime quality guarantee, because anything else would be insufficient.
The Color
Obsidian - Deep black achieved through non-toxic dyes. Applied without bleaching processes that degrade wool at the molecular level.
Care
Wash with like colors in cold water with mild detergent
Lay flat to dry - do not hang
Do not bleach or use fabric softener
Avoid high heat and direct sunlight
Or professionally dry clean
Merino wool is naturally odor-resistant and requires less frequent washing
Pilling is an expected part of a merino wool product. To remove pills, carefully use a pill shaver over the surface of the fabric. Do not pull or tug at the pills to remove them, as that could damage the garment.
